Project Description:

WordCamps are nonprofit events funded by the WordPress foundation. All organizers volunteer their time and expertise. It’s an awesome way to give back to the WordPress community.

WordCamp Maui was the first official WordPress conference held in the Hawaiian islands. Speakers from all over the world gathered to share their knowledge of all things WordPress.

The organization team consisted of myself, Jon Brown, Elena Rego, Chuck Burke, Jeff Milone, Jen Russo, Malia Bohlin, Erik Blair and Tania Ginoza. I was proud to work with such an awesome team of friends and fellow WordPress professionals to organize the event. WordCamp Maui was a sold out event, and extremely well received by the community and speakers alike.

My Involvement:

My responsibilities included branding, design and swag for the event. I designed the logo, signage, maps and any printed materials. I designed and provided all CSS development for the WordCamp Maui website. The website was ranked among the best WordCamp website designs. I designed and printed the t-shirts, coffee mugs, phone cases and additional swag. In addition, I commissioned some awesome tiki mugs created by Rob Hawes for the speaker and organizer gifts.

I was also a speaker at WordCamp Maui. Jeff Milone and I represented our business, Organic Themes, in which we were interviewed by Chris Lema.

Additionally, our company Organic Themes was a top sponsor for the event.
